Fishing Report 07-14-10

Today was a relaxing day fishing with 2 fellow FSFA (Florida Sport Fishing Association) members. They were both "point fishing", which has benchmark weights for various spesis of fish in different categories of tackle. Most of the day was spent verticle jigging, and about everything was caught from Sea Bass and Grunts to Kings and Cuda. Almaco and AJ's liked this method also. The best catch of the day however was some "Red Meat", in the form of Blackfin Tuna. The big fish of the day was a 20lb Blackfin. A 50lb Cobia spent some time around the boat, and followed everything we put in its sight, but would not bite. A few other boats apparently saw it also, but none were seen landing it. Hot air and water temps with no wind made it a sauna till after lunch time when some light winds moved in. The flat sea's of the last few weeks look to be giving way to some rougher conditions through the weekend. Looks like its gonna be Tuna on the grill for dinner!
