I had the wonderful opportunity to fish the 2009 Hook a Cure fishing tournament with fellow SaltyWorld members Stalefish and Category 5. The day started off to with a 17.5 inch trout at a docklight.

Confident with our trout, we moved toward the beaches to find both more bait and the early morning Snook bite.

With the tide quickly going out, and the water becoming murky, we decide to head inshore to target some Redfish on the flats and drop offs. We caught several more trout throughout the day until the tide began to rush in. We anchored near a natural pass near a grass flat. This is where we would catch a 28" and our tournament winning 34.5" Redfish. With 1 hour before the weigh in closed, we landed the 34.5"

We were rewarded with a new Abu Garcia rod, reel, and the thought of knowing it was all for a wonderful cause.

Tight Lines,
Capt. Ryan
