Went wade fishing at Fort Desoto on Wednesday.  Water was a little cold still but expected to see some reds and trout.  Stopped by the Bait Bucket on Tiera Verde to get some shrimp. They had reports of a large school of reds on Tarpon Key recently so that boosted my confidence of catching some reds.  Started out on the east side of the bayway on Mullet Key. Nada.  Went to the kayak trail and nothing either (except for a hundred kayaking snowbirds). Tried the far eastern tip of the key and nothing either.  Went back to the eastern side of the bayway and managed to catch a few decent trout and a couple nice 20"-24" mackerel from the channel.  Water was pretty devoid of life except for pinfish and a few small schools of anchovies that the mackerel were feeding on.  Only saw a few mullet jumping.  There were some mullet fisherman in the area and they seemed to not be having much luck either.  The tide was not the best.  It was a slow incoming tide that was suppose to last all day. I caught the fish when i experienced the most tidal movement.
